no.
Honors is somewhat random and released on a rolling basis. I was accepted on 12/10 and received an Honors invite a week later. Merit, apart from Morill Scholars, isnât coming out until February.
D was accepted on 12/10 also. Received an email last friday night at 11pm with an invite to Honorsârandom timing. Has not received anything yet relating to merit money.
has anyone that got in on friday heard from honors yet?
My son decided this was the last straw for him with going there, and he got in. Heâs been accepted everywhere else so they just got crossed off of his list. Agree it is elitist attitude school, when many others are as good or better that donât act this way, and weâve had lots of red flags on why he should consider elsewhere.
@Camelbak Thanks for the information. I will have her look in her portal again. We may have missed it. My daughter was admitted on 12/10, so we will look for info in the last month. Thanks again.
Wondering how many of us on here are still waiting for the EA admission decision? Iâm also wondering why OSU hasnât posted something about so many EA portals not being updated? Is it possible they donât know or is the timing unfortunate because it fell on a weekend and wonât be addressed until tomorrow? There are 15 EA applicants from my sonâs school to OSU and none that we know of have an updateâŠusually about a half are accepted EA.
Itâs so wrong how they have handled this and these kids donât know when to expect it.
We are still waiting too. We also know of several EA applicants from the same high school that have not gotten a decision yet. All of the other universities have been prompt with their acceptances. I donât understand why OSU is so bad at this.
My daughter is still waiting in NJ, but everyone else from our town has their decision. My daughter will call tomorrow to ask.
Admissions Offices know these forums exist and are likely (or should be) monitoring these spaces, especially when putting out acceptance offers (I know bc Iâm in admissions at another university). If they are lurking this weekend, they should be absolutely embarrassed and couldâve quickly eased everyoneâs anxiety and confusion by simply posting a comment on this site, emailing our kids, posting on social media, updating their website, etc.
Pick one.
It is very dishearteningâŠa post somewhere would have been nice. I think most people could understand a computer glitch or a missed batch not loaded onto a system or whatever mishap that has happened, but zero communication is hard to wrap my head around.
I saw a comment on reddit thread from someone claiming to work in admissions at OSU. They said notifications will roll out for EA through 2/1 and to sit tight. Thatâs certainly far from an official response, and of course, how do we know if its true? People can say anything online in an anonymous forum.
So when their Undergraduate Admissions website says Early Action decisions will be posted on 12/10 or 1/21 *subject to change, we should inherently know that *subject to change applies to some applicants but not all applicants and theyâre not going to tell you if your decision date has changed or what date itâs changed to.
Classy.

Not good form at all.
OSU has turned my kid off based on this experience.
Still waiting here in Virginia. Hoping the admissions office will provide some type of update today. Did anyone hear over the weekend?
Also in NJâplease let us know what she finds out. We are making plans to visit the other schools he was accepted to. Even if he gets in, Iâm not sure how (we) feel moving forward. Itâs like giving someone another chance after they ghosted you on your first date. I know a few others havenât heard but my friendâs son (same school) heard from the business school and got in Fri. This is terrible form.
I just called admissions and âdue to high call volume we canât take your callâ. So guessing I am not the only one trying. Will try the âask a buckeyeâ feature next
My daughter did âask a buckeyeâ on Saturday morning and it said by 1/31.
Exactly! This the time when colleges usually are showing their best side to convince you they are awesome. This is not impressive at all.
