Ohio State Class of 2026 Admission

We are in Illinois, too! We have heard nothing about merit and my child was accepted all the way back in early December. The only thing we have heard from them was that financial aid would come in March, that she was not accepted into the honors program (but told her to submit her preferences for the scholars program instead), and that is it…. At this time, it’s her top choice along with Penn State and Syracuse, but Penn State is notorious for not giving money and we don’t hear from Syracuse until March. I’m really hoping OSU will come through!

I got a letter today saying I was awarded 12k over 4 years and a 13500 renewable scholarship. I was admitted to Honors Engineering. I was also admitted to Honors Eng at Purdue and ME at Georgia Tech.
Cost after merit Ohio 32k Purdue 40k, and GT would be about 47k. I don’t know which to choose.

Wondering if anyone here might have any insight but my daughter was deferred in January. It seems like honors and scholarship decisions have gone out so I’m Feeling like deferred candidates won’t be eligible?

I am not sure that matters, because mine found out in the first wave and not heard about Merit yet. Honors might be different. Not sure.

This process is so confusing and stressful.

Those are all wonderful choices. Can I ask if Purdue awarded you any merit? I hear they have a wonderful Co-op program. My son is choosing between engineering at OSU in state with Scholars program or Purdue with out of state tuition. Tough Choices for you all to make.

Yes, I do believe that as well, just hoped she might know where she ends up a little earlier than it’s working out to be :rofl:

Would u mind sharing stats?

Congratulations! Would u mind sharing stats?

This is exactly what I was calculating. The OOS tuition at OSU is about $24,000 over our in-state tuition. The scholarship is for $13,500 plus a few thousand for the Provost, Maximus, and Trustees scholarship… It just can’t cover it.

Need to check if Morrill Honors was offered… can’t remember… They were sent out right?

Congrats!
I don’t know which will be better for you, but those are all great choices! It’s a lot of money for them to give to say that they want you!

@e62l33

OOS
1550 SAT
3.89 weighted I think?
lost of extracurriculars, sports, and volunteering
many APs and 5’s on the exams (one 4)
Music and all states
what else?

My son received Provost and Buckeye. The letter stated that he could apply for other scholarships/aid by completing the FAFSA, so you can go that route.

I think morrill is on a rolling basis every Friday

I believe Maximus, Provost, and Trustee are $3k, $2k, and $1k respectively. (Maximus is def $3k)

Daughter was deferred in Dec as well deferred from Wisc and Auburn. She was admitted to some other pretty decent schools but just came home the other day, said screw it, and accepted to Arkansas. There’s an actual palpable change in her demeanor now that she has accepted - things, all things, now seem fun and enjoyable for her…and us parents.
