Interesting - looks like you’ve covered all the bases. We’ll do the same and report back early next week. S22 will call before school because of the time difference (with my supervision :)). Waiting on UCLA since that will be affordable - decisions come out today.
Did your daughter apply to any scholarships through the Ohio State ScholarshipUniverse (on BuckeyeLink)? There are/were many available…you can also apply to these scholarships throughout your years at OSU.
Unfortunately, she found this out a little too late. We’re hoping if she does Attend for the full price that she will now apply for these. I guess we got a little complacent after she was receiving them from every single school. Plus, she then tried on two different devices and kept blocking her from going to the offsite scholarships even with her pop ups turned off.
Just saw OSU posted another Admissions post on insta. Anyone get in today?
I have been checking for the past hour, I have no updates to my portal nor an email.
I know, I’m confused because it’s exactly like what they post before a release, but nothing.
Did anyone that got deferred hear anything ?
We haven’t. Deferred from EA.
What is their insta called that posted admissions update?
@theohiostateuniversity
It didn’t actually say they were releasing decisions but did say something about new class of 2026 which was similar to what they posted with other releases.
I’m not sure what is going on in the admissions office. Yesterday daughter got an email that said due to the competitive applicant pool she was not accepted into University Honors and asked her to apply to Scholars Program. Yet early February she received an email congratulations on her Engineering Honors acceptance. She narrowed it down to 2 other schools so not following up but just thought it strange.
I really think their admissions/financial aid departments are having some major issues this year, and they don’t appear to be flexible.
Seems like there is more of an interest in Ohio State this year than has historically been the case on this site. In prior years, there were a couple threads but none of them received the traffic that I see with this year. Good for Ohio State. Tougher for those applying though. Expect same may be true in terms of financial aid.
I did hear of several other getting the honors email, then osu following up and saying it was a mistake that some people got the email.
the mistake email was an email asking admitted engineering honors students to ALSO apply to the Integrated Business and Engineering Honors Program. It did not say anything about engineering honors being a mistake.
"I am reaching out to you today about a message you received encouraging you to apply to the Integrated Business and Engineering Honors program. Unfortunately, there was a glitch in the system and you accidently received the message. This email was about an additional application for students admitted into the honors program. "
I looked on my daughter’s portal-she was deferred Early Action- and it looks a little different. There is a box with our contact information and there is a spot that says OSU email address. Under it says none. This wasn’t there before. I’m thinking that it can’t be a good sign. Does anyone else notice any changes?
I am also deferred Early Action and I have the contact information box with OSU email address with nothing.
My deferred early action also has that new box that pops up with a blank OSU email. Can other people confirm if this is there and it has not been there in the past
Is there nothing there under OSU email address or does it actually say “none” under it? My daughter’s says “none”.
