Looking at @shahs.1900 's chart, I see that just about everyone was able to successfully complete the “Admitted student tour email” hack. There are some anecdotal exceptions, but I’m afraid I may prematurely let this possibility of an acceptance snowball in our home. I have always said the disclaimer that “no one knows for sure” but it seems much less likely now (my kid is not a super high stat applicant either) than when we first tried it. What we do know is that is that, there’s a high chance that by this time next week, we won’t have to speculate anymore about Tennessee admissions decision!

Random musing. Just checked the portal again and now the paragraph about being EA deferred/decision will be late February is back again, after disappearing this afternoon. Everything else is the same as it was from a few hours ago. Sigh.

my admissions counselor said since my email said “we see you were admitted to Pre-Law” in the confirmation email it is likely the admissions team acknowledged in their system that i’m getting accepted but the letters haven’t been sent out yet.

I am reading all of the things and my daughter does not have the admitted student tours listed. When we signed for the admitted student day, no major was listed. I am interpreting from this blog that this is not a good sign?
She was deferred EA.
Did you try to sign up for a tour recently?
When we did that, no major was listed. We just tried. Hoping that isn’t a bad sign!

Nothing is truly set in stone until decisions are released, so don’t stress. There’s a high possibility this is another one of UTK’s glitches, and there truly is no rhyme or reason for it. Best of luck to you!

If you don’t plan on going then cancel in case someone else needs the spot.

Then certainly keep that date … those of us who weren’t sure if we could make the tour we chose canceled it to make room for someone who was positive they could go. Good luck !
