I registered her and a major did not show up (marketing) it said the college of business. Probably not a good sign, right?
In my sonās portal he has two options for tours - campus tour and self guided tour. Are you guys seeing an admitted student tour option in that spot?

Donāt give up, Emma! My daughter has average grades and did not submit her SAT (she has ADHD and does not do well on any standardized tests). She was surprisingly waitlisted for Clemson and received a PSA from TAMU (hard targets for her), which we consider wins since she had a rough 4 years (COVID move, her grandmother passing away, + bullying issues) that severely affected her grades and also made her unable to apply EA/ED bc of her 1st semester freshman grades (long story).
Iām sure they looked at her holistically, which we really appreciated. She was only straight out rejected from Ohio State (which we expected & arenāt really heartbroken over) but has some great options, and we are still waiting to hear back from 8 others.
There really is not a lot of rhyme or reason to admissions. The āchance meā posts are not always accurate. Ppl can estimate but those colleges who look at the person and not the stats, numbers are just guidelines. Keep the faith!

That does not explain the first or second major listed. How do they assume which major?

I think Iām going with the idea that the emails donāt mean anything 
I think those who have 2nd major probably have more grounds to be cautiously optimistic. I think 1st choice major probably doesnāt mean anything
I am thinking they want to see how many more of us folks die of heart attacks before they release .
Thatās not how it would work if it just based it on you signing up. Everybody would have first or second major but maybe who knows. I have never seen UTK commit until they post the date, so somebody saying by Tuesday is actually committing . For EA my counselor kept saying soon in the next week or so and the same day results were announced. Never specifically gave a day

update: my friend who was also deferred who did not update his grades in his srar, was able to sign up for the admitted student tour with the major listedā¦
