University of Tennessee Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

23.7% admission rate for OOS students

Thank you! I think they figured it wasn’t his number one choice and admissions are just all over the place this year with so many applicants at these schools. He also did not apply EA. Best of luck to everyone!!!

It took us a couple of tries to get it to come up. Keep trying!

Did they post admitted student stats for this cycle?

Did you just keep clicking the blue hyper link ? This is too much anymore … we are actually chuckling .

yes scroll down it’ll show regular decisions release:

Yep! It took about three tries to get the accept or decline option to come up. They’re obviously overwhelmed with traffic on the site. Best of luck to your student!

UTK is a great example of how kids should apply to lots of schools -very glad we did. Got rejected from safeties and in at reaches. Zero $ from safeties, and lots of $ from privates. Very hard to predict.

This has been a crazy board and you all have provided great entertainment, distraction and kinship. Good luck to all your wonderful kids!!!

My daughter decided to stay on the waitlist, but I thought going abroad for first semester would be cool, and then start in the Spring. But she said no.

From reading these posts, I can’t discern if it is better to be waitlisted or be given the choice of a pathway? Does anybody have any thoughts on that?

Waitlist, not surprised, grades and stats were not very high. She declined waitlist and has 10 acceptances and 2 more schools to hear from so she is fine. Considering U of Kentucky, Elon, and Indiana. Congratulations to all that were accepted!

We have 4 options:
“As a student invited to our waitlist, you are also encouraged to reserve your place among one of the programs below, which offer guaranteed UT admission in Spring 2025 or Fall 2025 as a transfer student. You are able to indicate interest in one program and also remain on the waitlist for Fall 2024 admission. If you opt-in to join the waitlist and choose to participate in a pathway program, you will still be considered for admission from the waitlist if space becomes available – choosing a pathway option will not negatively impact your chances of being admitted. Any deposit paid toward the program of your choosing will be refunded if you are admitted off the waitlist for Fall 2024. For more information about your options, visit admissions.utk.edu/waitlist.

  1. Join the Waitlist | Opt-in or decline your spot on the waitlist for Fall 2024.
  2. Verto Vols | Choose to study abroad as a Verto Vol with Verto Education
  • Semester Program | Transfer back to UT in Spring 2025. Please note: Space in this program is very limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Year Program | Transfer back to UT in Fall 2025
  1. Rocky Top Transfer | Choose to study with Pellissippi State Community College and transfer to UT in Fall 2025
  2. UT Access Collaborative | Choose to study at another UT System campus (Chattanooga, Martin, Southern) and transfer to UT in Fall 2025 after satisfying program requirements.

This says waitlist students can persue any 3 of the pathways programs.

This is nuts… So many schools and websites need to update stats pronto… UTK is no longer 68-77% acceptance rate which is the range I have seen via Google, CC, niche, Naviance etc … these % are a false sense of reality and not fair to all those that invest their time. Maybe colleges are leaving them high so the apps and $$$ keep rolling in!!!

They made 3,000,000 on application fees alone.
