Did they post how many students were waitlisted?
Does anyone know if the students that choose the pathway still live in UTK dorms? Thatās how Clemson does it.
Interesting the admission release made this school less desirable for my daughter who would be applying next yearā¦having upwards of 70% of the potential class be from instate isnāt very appealing to her as an OOS studentā¦UTK just dipped on her listā¦our son loves his school in part bc it isnāt too instate āheavy.ā

Daughter got Waitlisted with Verto Vols, UT other campus pathways, or Pellissippi CC pathway. The semester abroad is the only interesting option to her, but maybe not as interesting as some other offers she has, and I am wary of housing not being guaranteed when they get back, especially given the housing issues at UTK. Sheāll stay on the waitlist but is already accepted to others she likes, so likely moving on. Congrats to all who got in!
Weāre in at Elon too! Going to admitted student day in two weeks.

Now that they have auto admits for in state students, it makes it harder for OOS. Itās very hard when so many schools have in state students but it does make sense after all. Even if you do get in OOS, you have to pay the hefty cost of tuition. Ultimately, itās making most people go in state.

We are going as well. 
Except those of us from Maryland, where it is actually harder to get into our flagship instated than out of state. Lol
so for the accepted students, will they have a cap on the number of students in the class that are OOS? can they just close enrollment for the accepted students at any point? like should i pay my deposit rn?

Release from UTK says ~24% acceptance rate for OOS and If my math is correct it looks to be an overall acceptance rate of ~34%. Wow!

OOS/ WL also, no sweat, admitted I.U.; MSU Broad; ASU; and PSU DUS University Park remains top of the listā¦ until a deferred OSU comes back admitted in a few weeksā¦fingers crossed.

We just had a long talk with our kid. He has SMU (Cox), LSU and James Madison as choices. He wants to sign up for the Spain Fall semester abroad pathway to UTK. We told him all the pros and cons and he wants to give it a go. Fortunately, this still preserves his place on the waitlist.
