My son got the “still interested?” text on Saturday, April 6. He remains on the WL.
For those of you that have gotten off the waitlist, what majors Did you have?? I know two advertising majors that got in.
pre law, SAT: 1330. Yeah I received an email the week before asking if I was still interested, and I sent a letter of continued interest.
I’m from Florida. Taking an admitted student tour next Monday and I will make my final decision, but I will most likely end up at UTK.

My daughter was accepted from the waitlist and they admitted her under Public Administration with the Bakers School of Business. It was not the correct major she wanted, once she accepted admissions it gave her the opportunity to switch her major to another so she did and 24 hours later she received confirmation that her major is now Business Administration in Haslam College. I don’t think the waitlist draw is due to major.

When I called admissions they told me they pull by major … that once a big group declines from a certain major they will pull people from the waitlist. She said otherwise They could possibly have too many people in one major and not enough others.

I guess it is possible they pull by major but very odd that they are quick to allow you to switch once you accept. It was the second question in the paperwork.

Decision is still not made. But it’s probably going to be gt.
As far as the Cocktail Party, you know the saying ‘begin as you mean to go on’? Well, we have always treated the rivalry as something fun and never been petty about it. They’re both great schools with great sports programs. We’re not down there on the field, lol! We have great friends and we all tailgate together and have each other’s backs if we run into classless bad sports from either fan base. We have a lot of fun with our “mixed marriage”.

Has anyone received a financial aid package in their UTK email yet? I am trying to choose between Texas A&M and UTK but have heard nothing from A&M yet. I know UTK said by the end of the week just wondering if anyone has received an email.

for reference i am oos and applied as a business major
At this date, if accepted off the waitlist, does anyone know the impact to housing? Are these students in equal priority to dorms? Or is housing rolling?
Housing is lottery system so if you have your deposit in you are in the system. I believe housing doesn’t give registration time until late May or early June, Then you are given a time slot and day to pick a dorm. A certain number of rooms are available each day for each dorm.

No disadvantage at all. All equity here… all students placed in waves and times and rooms throughout all the dorms are released in each wave. We put housing down in Feb and there is no advantage for us.
