I’m joining the conversation late, but this is about the SRAR issue. (I feel like there should be a separate thread for this
lol.) So, if I understand anyone that logged on last night and had the SRAR issue, ie later date showing because they applied to VT, had “Awaiting Decision” at the top of their portal and a deferral in the body of the text due to the late/incorrect date of the SRAR. Am I to understand that today it still says “Awaiting Decision” but no longer says deferred?

We just logged into the portal this afternoon and see two dates for the SRAR - one of 10/26 when DS applied to UTK and another one of 11/27 when he finally submitted to VT. His portal says “Awaiting Decision” at the top, but nothing about deferral or denied.

What a mess. The precursor was the Easter egg on the portal tipping people off and now this SRAR issue. All in stark contrast to how UGa handled their decision release so flawlessly!

Crossing my fingers for everyone going thru the SRAR situation. Sounds like you will your decision, but just a couple days later.

My son. Was in his letter last night and received an email this morning.

But as I understand it, there are separate issues.

  1. A few days ago, some people had an option under next steps to update seventh semester grades on the SRAR. It sounds like the general consensus is that these people would be deferred.
  2. Some people updated SRAR for UTK either intentionally or in advertently by applying to another school after the early action deadline, thereby bumping them to regular decision unfairly

Is this correct or are they somehow connected?

We never had “deferral” with the SRAR glitch. It still said awaiting decision and when you scrolled down it says they were unable to review the application due to one of the reasons. Perhaps you truly had a deferral?

Same with ours. Only says “Awaiting Decision”. Noting about deferral or denial. We are a SRAR VT issue.

Same. S24 UTK portal just updated from SRAR/VT to deferred.

Correct. He was never actually deferred. Just bumped to RD due to mistakenly labeling his SRAR late. They’ve corrected all of the portals
at least my daughters. Hers also showed admitted major and 2 addl ID’s (other than slate ID) for a while this afternoon but they are now gone.

Did you try logging in with those credentials ? Those who had those the other day were indeed accepted last evening . Did you happen to take a photo ?

My son got a message just now saying he had a status update but when he logs in it just says awaiting decision. No formal deferral. He was one of the SRAR issue people. Anyone else have this?
