We just got an email from our local admissions counselor asking us to fill out a document with questions since this affected so many applicants … it appears it’s affected more than originally thought

Not gonna lie. Watching all of this unfold as a Junior parent is a bit underwhelming in regards to Tennessee…I feel for all of you. And will definitely have this in mind next year!
No worries, I understand! They aren’t my scores, so not comfortable blasting them. But we are in state, and he has also been accepted to the Plan II Honors program at UT-Austin and to Princeton.
He’s out at a hockey game but I’ll have him log back in when he gets home and ask if he sees anything below that. I feel like we both scrolled around and did not see any note or anything mentioning deferred.

My student had the SRAR issue. Never received an email asking to check the portal, just checked it ourselves after 7pm. We emailed his rep, whom we’ve had many communications with, and today I called the school. Loging back into the portal we now have a deferred message, and the old “you’ve not completed it on time” message is gone. Strangely, tonight one of the classmates forwarded an email from the rep, apparently to a large group, asking to fill out a form if they had the SRAR->RD issue and to not call admissions. We haven’t received that email either - nor any notice that the website was updated. Sigh, looking at stats, UTK appears to be going the way of UGA (aiming for UVA?) in stats they are looking for especially for OOS. I wish on the tour they had been more forthcoming. Onwards and upwards…

We didn’t receive that email either, though I called this morning. Also NJ.
Just received a message that there was a system error and the decision will be available at 7 PM tonight.

Was anyone denied from EA? Or was it just deferrals and acceptances?
So they have actually deferred some people who had the SRAR issue?? Not the blah blah blah message that you didn’t meet the deadline, but an actual deferral?

Accepted with 13k scholarship…I have to say I’m impressed they turned that around so fast. And I’m sorry to others who ended up with a deferral after all of that.

Son accepted after getting that same error message. 1320 SAT, 29 ACT. Haslam. Initial deferral. Go Vols!
