Another change this morning.
For a few days now I have been getting blank major on the email.
This morning I got a blank and a few hours i tried again and it had changed to Univ Exploratory Track which basically is “Student needs to transition to their major after enrolling in a few semesters using advise from the college they plan to attend”
Fingers crossed!
We are getting close to decision time.
Sorry if this question is redundant, but hypothetically, if you are able to schedule the admitted student tour but the email has no major, you are either under review or waitlisted? And if you have been denied, you can not schedule an admitted student tour?
Agreed on declining offer, however, many like my daughter may also be waiting on merit scholarship decisions. We can’t fully evaluate UTK offer until we find out about those.
Agreed, I know my kids got admitted to 7 colleges they did not plan to attend and i forced them to decline offer so as to open up the spot for somebody else. There will be cases like ours where we still have schools they have been admitted to but have not yet declined or accepted because we are waiting for aid, scholarship or other info.
It would be based one one’s personal college choices and if they are waiting on other info to make their decision.
But remember it is a nightmare for parents whose kids are in the midst of this “I would describe the whole admissions process a fiasco”.
I know because when my first daughter got accepted and second got deferred the same day , my entire family had a nightmare of a time for 2 days trying to console the one who was deferred.
This might be entertaining for a lot of people but for the parents of kids trying to get into their dream schools it definitely is not
Please don’t misunderstand what I’m saying. I’m in the same boat as you, although that sounds horrible dealing with that for twins. I only meant the portal astrology stuff and the backdoor registration stuff is really funny and helps me at least deal with the stress.
But with UTK for freshman, isn’t the merit all spelled out ….like don’t you know what your daughter will get assuming she gets in? obviously, if she doesn’t get in she’s not getting anything, but their merit money seems to be pretty standard
For the standard one based on gpa/test score, yes she got I think $13k per year (we are oos) but the other merit scholarships haven’t been announced yet (like chancellors scholarships).
i checked yesterday and my son’s was blank felt pretty crappy until this morning when we got “unofficial intel” so i hesitantly tried to sign up again and my son’s email had his first choice as admitted major!!! hoping this is good! keep checking bc i agree they are still putting in decisions.
