University of Washington Seattle Waitlist 2024

I’m hoping since May 1st is still their deadline, they’ll let a bunch of people off then. What do y’all think?

@hello123dawg yeah I’m in the same situation, I hope they’ll start opening up spots pretty soon so we will know if we should commit to another school or not.

@Joshepres As of right now it seems like the deadline is still May 1st and I don’t think they are going to extend the deadline or else they would of probably already done so, and hopefully, they will start getting people off the waitlist soon.

How long does it usually take for them to send your decision? Because I sent mine on the night of April 14th and still am waiting for a response. I feel like since it’s coming late, then they probably already rejected my appeal

That may be a good sign. My DD submit hers on the 14th and it was rejected right away.

Does anyone know how we know if we are off the waitlist? Does the portal update, do we get an email notification, is it sent by mail? I don’t know what I’m waiting for haha

@hello123dawg i heard they are not sending mail anymore due to covid, but i am not 100% sure. you will probably be notified through email if you get a status update though

For my son, he just got an email saying congratulations. We then checked the portal. Good luck!

So I already appealed my decision, which was a deny, and was luckily placed on the waitlist a few days ago. Since I cannot appeal twice, I was wondering if anyone has gone through the same process and submitted a LOCI? Thanks.

i sent my appeal on 4/25 and i got admitted today!! (i literally started crying ahah). i’m in-state, 4.0 (while doing running start my junior and senior year), 1230 sat score, and i’m looking to study design.

i bascially talked about my life (my relatives going to uw, doing running start, knowing the communities that i wanted to get involved in at uw, and the program i wanted to study there). i think the important thing is to be blunt about what you can bring from your upbringings to the university, and emphasize how you can grow as a student there.

i hope everyone hears back soon!

@minmini Hi! Congrats! I submitted my appeal the day before but haven’t gotten notified. What time did you get notified that you got admitted today?

I feel like UW accepted a bunch of students (especially OOS) the beginning-Mid April, however I sent in my appeal on the 26th and it got rejected today  anyone think they’re going to accept more oos off the waitlist?

@mmk81019 I’m sorry! I hope you get in from the waitlist! When did you get the email about your appeal decision? Did you have to fill the waitlist form again?

I feel like this year a lot of appeal that we’re submitted early got denied, and the ones that were send in later on got in. Cause I know a lot of people who submitted their appeal around the time I did (3/16) got denied. Anyone know what this could mean?

@Tiffanyhlc hi and thanks! i got the email at 6:16 pm pst (so a couple hours ago). i hope you hear back soon!

it’s all good lol! Also I got my appeal around 3-4 days after I had submitted it! And no, I didn’t need to resubmit the waitlist form

I was really hesitant to check my email last and this week but put myself to check it today because May 1st is Decision Day, but I got admission! I sent in my appeal on the 14th, and got an email saying Congratulations on the 22nd. Very very excited to be continuing my families tradition of going to UW Seattle

@pqweij1032 congrats on your successful appeal. If you don’t mind me asking, what was your gpa and sat/act score and intended major?

@njc0524 my GPA is 3.7, SAT is 1260. I am a in-state running start student and my intended major is CS .

I submitted an appeal and it got rejected. ACT:35 GPA:4.2 OOS 4 leadership positions and multiple clubs and awards. Hoping I get off the waitlist soon.
