University of Washington Seattle Waitlist 2024

i’m in state and i appealed april 15th and i’m still waiting like ??

SAME !! ^ I appealed April 14th and I’m still waiting…

Hopefully we both get in!!! and hopefully they let us know soon?

@nashwaves @enguyenvi i also appealed on the 14th and still waiting… haha hopefully we all get in…

@pqweij1032 @nashwaves I hope so!!! Just wondering but did u guys submit a letter of recommendation too? I did but IDK if it’ll help. I got a recommendation from my school counselor so hopefully that’ll help.

@enguyenvi yeah i submitted one from my stats teacher! also that’s really good that you got one from your counselor! i think the letters of rec will help us, especially if what they said connects to our appeal in someway

@enguyenvi yes! i got one from my running start professor! I definitely think it will help us, but one of my friends got in without a letter of rec so not sure… I think it really depends on what you write

omg my appeal just got approved about an hour ago! I’m oos from California and I submitted my appeal on 4/14 and I got the results back on 4/24! Something that I think help was my LOR, I’m wishing you all the best of luck!

Exactly on the 15th

@bahamallamas that’s awesome, congrats! may i ask what you wrote about and your stats? thanks!

my gpa was a 4.0W, ACT 29, and over 70+ hours of community service

in my appeal I talked about how I lacked in grades junior year and as well as how my application was incomplete because due to personal issues I was not able to submit what I feel like was a strong application. However I kept that part brief and focused on how I’ve improved senior year, GPA wise, extracurriculars, clubs, awards ANYTHING small. Hope this helps!

hi guys, my appeal unfortunately got declined :frowning: i’m in state. 3.78 cumulative GPA. 1220 SAT. 3.8 GPA 1st sem senior year. Took 2 APs and I’m taking 3 this year+UW eng class. I wrote about how junior year i wasn’t able to get the best grades/sat score because i had to take care of my brothers while my mom was working. talked about how senior year i was able to bring my GPA up from 3.5 to 3.8 because i figured out how to manage my time. also wrote about how i joined the tennis team and multiple clubs. i honestly don’t know why it got denied :frowning:

i also got my appeal denied but in all honesty i really do think that admissions was just harder on the appeals than before since so many students are looking to stay in state bc of the covid19 and uw needs to find a to balance out in state and oos by looking at more oos applicants to admit instead

So if I submitted an appeal (in-state) but it got denied is there still the chance I will get off the waitlist? Like do the admissions people know if people on the waitlist appealed or not?

@blink4ever I have asked that question to the admissions office and they assured me multiple times that the denied appeal will not interfere with my chance of getting off the waitlist. I am also in state and still waiting to hear back after my appeal was denied.

I submitted an appeal for my deny on April 15 (OOS Cali) and was notified yesterday that I was placed on the waitlist. I’ve noticed that a wave of OOS applicants was already accepted off the waitlist; does this decrease my chances? Thanks everyone.

@pdiddy415 it doesn’t since the waitlist is not ranked, i’m pretty sure they take you off the waitlist (if they have available spots) depending on the information you submit on the waitlist form & ur overall application

Does anyone know around when they started taking instate off waitlist last year? Will they be doing it during the beginning of may this year?

@em0910 I have no idea since it varies every year. I know one year it was the middle of May, and some were the first week of June, there’s no say, and I’m anxiously waiting to commit to a school (either western or UW) but I need to know!!! ahhhhh
