UNOFFICIAL THREAD TO MAKE COMMENTS ABOUT NOT-SO-NEW CC SITE

Sounds like some sort of odd caching issue. For those not seeing them, are you able to see them in a different browser, or an another device? The inconsistency of these errors is also frustrating for us since we need to reproduce them ourselves before reporting them to the site host (who must make the fixes).

They were missing for me, too, regardless of whether I was using Chrome or Firefox and after clearing out my browsing history . . . UNTIL I hit “preview” after writing a comment here and now they’re magically restored. Bizarro.

Not a different browser- both chrome and FF are a “no”, but I did check and I can see them on my phone when I switch over to desktop mode.

Can see the word Like and some count, but not who liked whatever it was. Phone and laptop. I just tested this by Liking romani’s post and it registered. But no name associated, when I hover. Chrome.

Also, for me, it would be good to have some easier way to find this forum. From College Discussion/My Bookmarks, I click Home and get logged out (still.) On that main page, there is no link to this forum. I have to click College Discussion (though my question is not a college discussion.)

And then I’m logged back in, too.

It seems to be working again for me now. Nothing has changed on my end - same browser (Firefox), same laptop

No patterns to discern whatsoever. I still think it’s some overly aggressive caching going on (as that has been the source of some earlier problems).

As for finding this forum, @lookingforward‌, I am only two clicks away no matter where I am on the site. As you mentioned, click College Discussion and then scroll down to the bottom for the link here. “College Discussion” is basically the top-level name for the entire forum overall, whereas “Home” takes you to our informational site. Certainly, the transition is rather subtle, as it’s easy to jump from one to the next without realizing it.

I can’t see who liked a post today either, I could yesterday. Firefox/Win 7.

That doesn’t bug me as much as not being able to bookmark a forum though.

My like function seems to be working again.

Mine now works in a thread, but not when I click on someone’s profile and try to look at their previous liked posts.

I can like posts, but I cannot see who else has. This morning I could.

I can see that Thumper’s Like was from OHMom- and see who Liked on her profile page. As an example.

I can’t though.

It’s working fine this morning…go figure!

It’s not working for me. I just tested it.

This is new - my post count is weird today. I was at 4910 yesterday, didn’t post anything new today, but this afternoon my posts numbered 4911. I added one new post a few minutes ago, and the count jumped to 4913. ???

Overly aggressive caching would seem the likely culprit. There are many instances I’ve seen where an action is not immediately recorded. Caching is done to lessen the load on servers, though one drawback is a dent in user experience. My guess is that the counter was not refreshed until today.

The like button is working now for me. Thanks!

That post is worth a like  Hope you are still able to receive them okay as well.

me too

Sorry, the like button does not work again.
