Hello folks,
Wondering if UT Austin will accept ACT superscore or ACT score for one single sitting?
Hello folks,
Wondering if UT Austin will accept ACT superscore or ACT score for one single sitting?
They do not superscore
Does Ut accept electronic ACT score?
My daughter is ranked top 1%. She is late to apply college. If she submit common app application today. Is she still have chance to complete UT early action application by oct 15? She likes to go business, does EA gets her higher chance than regular ED? Thanks!
UT Austin does not have ED/Early Decision.
You either apply EA (Early Action) or Regular Decision.
She needs to have her high school transcript sent by her counselor to confirm her class rank.
This is the first year UT has done a definite EA (they used to have “Priority” admission) so hard to say if it will give a leg up for McCombs but I doubt it. She already knows she’s auto admit and guaranteed acceptance to UT COLA, now if she gets into McCombs will all depend on the strength of the rest of her application and if she can show “fit to major” which UT is very, very big on.
I wouldn’t rush and skimp on the essays and expanded resume if she hasn’t finished those yet because those carry a lot of weight
Thanks a lot for sharing ur thoughts!
OOS DD just submitted her app for Special Education major. She has a 4.3, 11 AP classes, tons of leadership, volunteer work, paid job, 2 varsity sports. Yet with a 1220 she has less than zero percent chance of getting in. Hate that they stopped test optional
I’m sorry. I can’t believe that none of the next generation of my family is going to graduate from UT. My grandmother was the first to attend, in the late 1920s. Then so many of the following generations followed her.
Hi all. Sorry if this was asked and answered above but it’s a very active thread! Do we know when EA decisions were actually released last year?
This is the first year for EA. Last year it was a priority deadline and that priority deadline was Nov 1 . There were some small waves of acceptances late Nov and Dec (mostly high stats kids that I could tell who UT probably wanted to offer before binding ED decisions came out at ivy/T20 imho) but most learned early February.
According to the link below. EA is January 15. All decision are Feb 15.
I know the UT date list says 1/15 decision release but in the FAQ question “What is the difference between the Early Action and regular deadline?” It says “Students who meet the Early Action deadline will receive a notification no later than January 15. Regular deadline applicants will receive a notification no later than February 15.”
That wording of NO LATER THAN January 15 kind of opens the door for discussion where some people wonder if they will do what they did last year when the priority deadline said BY 2/1 but small waves came out earlier. I personally think they will all come out 1/15 all at once.
My daughter submitted her common app on 10/14 - will she receive a portal link? She has not received any confirmation of application being received.
She will…it sometimes takes several days.
You have till 23rd to check the portal and submit supporting documents.
My daughter got an email today to apply for housing. Does she need to choose a dorm now? Does anyone have any advice on this process?
She needs to put down a deposit (I thinks its just $50) for housing now,
in case UT is one of her top choices. She will choose a dorm later.
I think on-campus dorms go out fast, so its safe to put down a deposit.
Thank you - I was unclear if she had to choose her dorm now. I appreciate the information
Got confirmation from school counselor that they do not rank or provide GPA distribution. Hopefully whatever UT does to estimate rank does not affect his already slim OOS chances.
