UT Austin Class of 2029 Official Thread

We submitted FAFSA back in January to UT, but it still says pending. Same for others?

Yes but I heard finaid is rolling out on the 10th

Ugh, FAFSA is such a headache! It shows my daughter has an error, but we can’t get anyone from UT or FAFSA to help. I’m sure my daughter won’t receive any $, which makes it more frustrating to spend so much time on it.

Time to say Goodbye

UT handed my SAT 1550, straight A auto and 13 AP all 5 kid a COLA, today is the day to throw all UT past communications to the trash, no FAFSA surprises to be dealt with.

Wish you and your kids best of luck!

It really is a shock to process this isn’t it. I dealt with this last year with my son, I still wonder how. He’s got a similar profile to your son, he’s Oos now in an impacted major.

Forgive me, what is an impacted major?

That’s a term I first learned about last year when I wondered why my son and his friends didn’t get their first choice major with perfect/near perfect sat/act, relevant ECs, top percentiles. In our case it was computer science, where demand for cs seats was way more than available and not having enough professors to open up more classes. I believe there are other majors in cns with similar issue.

Any CSB students received any scholorship? Just wanted to know if they have started sending them out, thanks!

Where did they end up choosing? My daughter is also CS

Same. My Texas valedictorian got the same treatment. She told them goodbye yesterday. No regrets.

None

If my kid could get a Val or Sal standing, we will shoot for ivies, UT or not we could not care less. UT is my choice, instate tuition, ranking and future jobs all factor in, kids don’t think the way we do.

I have always liked Purdue CS. I was able to force in a Texas A&M application, but I failed to make kid do a Purdue one. In his world, he is already in UT Austin, why bother? Poor kid, UT does not even throw an ATP bone at him.

I was hoping for ATP, praying even. Once my kid decided on Purdue, he never checked his UT portal again, so we would never know. For you, it’s still possible to get atp, its only March so still possible

nah, no one from my family likes UT now, not even his younger siblings, he will move on to some OOS choices.

They do. There has been an event the past two summers in West LA. July I think.

My Son didn’t receive any so far. Any CSB student got merit scholarship?

Seeing if anyone else was accepted to UTNY pathway program?
