Wdym?

so many colleges and hs gc pushing for early actions so you can get a decision sooner and most of the big schools are deferring because of record number apps. i don’t understand why this wouldn’t have been expected and pre-planning done to still deliver on the promised date. so frustrated.

They just said they have updated MyStatus. So doesn’t look like an error.

It’s a deferral… it’s explained on the website

Did those who got accepted receive this dry of an email status update?

The dates haven’t been pushed. It’s a defferal. It’s all explained on the website: Review & Decision Process - University of Texas Admissions

Makes sense. Just confused why they don’t say it’s a deferral explicitly. Also I’ve seen no rejections and INSANE amount of whatever most of us got, so that is an unusually high amount of deferrals? Idk. Could be my sampling (here, my friends) that is flawed tho.

wondering why almost everyone got deferred?

I said they were pushed because I don’t see anyone who received a rejection

The admissions website says: “Due to the competitiveness of the applicant pool and limited space in high-demand programs, SOME applicants who meet the Early Action deadline may receive a defer decision by January 15.”

Does “some” mean “the vast majority?”
