We did not

eaxctly, he major is data science.

Deferred! Same with friends except for one who was apparently denied!

My speculation is they did 5 or 7% admit using standard deviation, meaning they picked 5 or 7% from the huge EA pool, not the best from the pool, rather a small snap shot of the whole admits, i could be wrong, maybe they did pick those that they think who fit the most.

Enough comedy for today.

Dumb question but should we treat this as a deferral? DD’s fall semester grades are in and she has a few new activities on her resume. Would it hurt to send them in? Her most recent (and best) ACT score was after the materials deadline but shows up in her portal. I’m just at a loss.

Can you send the link to the facebook group?

Accepted, OOS, submitted on 12/1

I know at least 10 auto admits from our school that got their majors. And another 5 non auto admits. I think the deferrals are high but there’s no way only 850 got in

Hey guys, any ChemE acceptances?

Who authored this post???

My son (in-state) got that deferral message also. He only knew 2 students in his school (ranking 20/900) got in and the rest of his friends all got deferred.

According to the above photo from college FB group, if only ~800-850 got accepted out of 78k, then ~99% should have been either deferred or rejected, but not 90%. So far, I have heard none that got rejected. The numbers there are not quite right.

It’s just one of many I belong to where someone posted that in response to question about UT decisions.

That post is wrong. I want to know who wrote it.

But who is the source who says they talked to UT? It sounds very wrong and misleading.

I don’t know, someone posted it in a post about the decisions.

Congrats on your kid’s outstanding achievement! Wondering if he will stick with TAMU as a Brown Scholar or choose GT.

My advice is if you are trying to find meaning in UT decisions you won’t be able to.

If you got deferred to 2/15 and want some context here is the link to Kevin Martin’s (TexAdmissionsGuy who was an AO at UT and who wrote Your Ticket to the 40 Acres book) assessment of what went down today. I loved his books (he has more than one) and his blog always gives so much good info:

number kind of fits to what we observed, at least it feels that way.

It does appear that they ran short of time using their own words.

wait to see ED from another school and cancelling out UT thus putting so many students on hold, I could not buy that, but what r u going to do other than another round of waiting.
