For students getting accepted, can stats please be posted? In-state vs OOS? Major? Test Score? (now required!) GPA?, activities/clubs/awards etc… this is the type of data that helps future applicants see the reality of what is being accepted. Much of the data online is misleading… THANKS!

WOW! Thank you for posting this! Mystery solved. All of that makes more sense than what was being speculated. Doesn’t surprise me the amount of applicants. I don’t know what the previous year brought but SEC football always brings in more applicants. Just ask OU. I think UT had a 12% increase of TX residents last yr and a whopping 48% increase in OOS students. With those numbers, seems wrong to continue to turn away deserving OOS students just to meet an in-state quota. But that’s the system, I guess.
Any Moody OOS admits EA?
Does anyone know if UT reviews applications in the order they are received? My OOS daughter submitted hers on 10/14 and I’m wondering if that plays a role. Obviously there are thousands of kids who submitted much earlier than that.
I applied for EA all the way back in August and got deferred, so no. It seems they choose applications randomly for review… (I guess I should’ve waited and spent more time on my application!)
Lots of RD accepted so that can’t be the case.
Not sure why they even looked at RD applicants when they couldn’t even finish looking at EA.
Agreed, makes no sense!
My son worked on his application all Summer and submitted the first day. He is in marching band so he wanted it all complete before that started. So no they are for sure not looking at them in order. My thinking is apps are divided up among people and some finished and some did not. It could also be divided up depending on the major. I have not seen many BME being accepted and that is what he submitted for.
Not a good look for UT. My D rushed to meet the 10/15 deadline. Now I wish she waited to 12/1.
Yes, but it appears about 95% of EA applicants were “deferred” due to a lack of time to review applications on the part of UT which is disappointing and leaving many to wonder if their application was reviewed and found lacking or is still waiting review. Many are questioning what is going on with UT admissions including The College Navigators and The UT Admissions Guy (he did an excellent video on the issue and how the Feb 15 negatively impacts many students with other ED applications) since MANY auto-admits are still waiting on majors and some RD students have been admitted.
Agreed. It’s a bad look. I heard u South Carolina didn’t get thru all the EA apps either and just sent most of them to RD.
It’s pretty unprofessional.
my kid’s status changed to derred when i checked few minutes back. Anyone got this on their status?
