Yes,

yes

Old statement on the portal:

Thank you for meeting our Early Action deadline. The Office of Admissions is thoroughly reviewing your application for your selected major and we need some additional time. No further action is needed on your part. You can expect to receive your admission decision February 15.

New statement on the portal:

Thank you for meeting our Early Action deadline. The Office of Admissions is thoroughly reviewing your application for your selected major, and we need some additional time. Your admission decision has been deferred to February 15. No further action is required on your part.

so what does change in statement mean, they reviewed the app and not decided whether to admit or not?

The do not

I must have missed the “we ran out of time” piece…did UT say that?

Still same, " Your application is still in review." message. No deferred status for OOS McCombs applicant who submitted on 10/14.

They did. I posted the old and new messages a few replies up in the thread.

Did all status updates change to to the new wording / deferred?

Deferred is Texas speak for “we didn’t have enough time to review.”

Do you think this bodes negatively for EA applicants who got deferred? I’ve heard from some sources that they ran out of time, while from others this is their complete review of the EA pool
