Looks like you have until Oct23rd to send official scores. Thats enough time if you ask me to send scores. My suggestion is go for early action if you are ready with everythingelse
@Camnbaysmom2 @P-Mom2025 Any auto admit update?
Not yet but our app finally indicated COMPLETE this morning. Progress.
Our regional rep told my daughter yesterday mid-October auto admits should hear.
So EA decisions would be released by Jan 15…in waves? We’re holistic.
I think they mean the autoadmit to university where the app is still in holistic review for major but you get the “admitted” in your portal.
Last cycle many got the autoadmit acceptance in their portal with 2 additional to-do items: accept/decline and pay enrollment deposit around end of September, mid-October. They still waited til the waves came in Nov/Dec/Jan for decision on their major.
I bet we see the auto-admit (to general university only) in October but with the “new” MyStatus system, I bet we wait for the “big reveal” all together on Jan 15 for EA. Just my 2 cents. The unannounced waves last time did not go over well. I think the changes with EA will include a more traditional “big reveal” on the set date now.
Jan 15 feels so far away. Especially since my kid is already in at TAMU. I’m afraid the luster of UT will fade by then (hope not!).
They have been doing unannounced waves for a decade. I bet they don’t change.
It won’t fade!! My son got his acceptance to TAMU in September (auto admit) and his UT acceptance on Jan 30th and it was like new years, his bday, christmas all wrapped into one lol. He had already mentally accepted he was going to TAMU and in a split second all that went out the window lol. He’s now a sophomore living his best Longhorn life!
Same here
Love that!! Well maybe that will happen for my kiddo. His main reason to want UT is band. I personally would like to avoid ETAM. More of his friends will for sure be going to TAMU but that shouldn’t matter.
So mine is finishing her application this weekend and should have it ready to submit! She got her official acceptance to TAMU a little over a week ago.
I know housing is limited and to apply right away, but is she already behind since she is just now applying? And when in the process can they apply?
You can apply for housing with a $50 deposit as soon as you submit your application AND UT housing deems the application “complete” (that means they have your transcripts and test scores etc with a day or two to look them over). Dorm selection windows are handed out by the timestamp of the housing deposit, not the contract which comes later.
As far as being “late to the game” that is a matter of opinion. Many say they waited until December and beyond but still got a dorm contract. That might make your student happy. But if a particular dorm or not-the-basement or community bath or top floor in a 4 floor building with no elevator are important to you to avoid, it is best to get it in as early as possible. Some have even paired up with a future roommate in a roommate group (so they could select a room at the same time) but found all rooms had someone in “bed A” already in the popular dorm they wanted already. If your kid is particular, I say get it in asap. If your kid will be happy with any room, you have time.
Daughter submitted application 9 days ago, and yesterday her transcript was reviewed as well but still her housing login doesn’t take her to the right page.
I bet they are swamped. People been complaining about getting the dreaded IT page waiting for the transcript to be reviewed in the FB pages.
Yeah, that is what we thought and also it seems to take 24-48hours to get access to housing for other texas schools, so we decided to give it couple days and see
All good info, thank you. The plan is to put housing down as soon as eligible so def won’t be waiting until December, even though UT is not currently her first choice but don’t want to have fewer housing options should that change(and if she’s admitted of course, she’s an auto-admit but applying to McCombs).
it took a couple days after my son’s transcript was out of review till housing portal opened.
Mine is auto too but for neuro so still super competitive. Crazy that if it isnt cola, edu, or communications no degree application is “comfortable” with UT. I never would’ve gotten in today even as a val oos.
