My son would also like to be in their Marching band. Band isn’t an option for him at TAMU, it’s not a deal breaker but one reason he is hoping he gets into UT Engineering.

Last year my son didn’t apply for housing until
he got his acceptance at the end of January. He was still in the first round of housing contracts in March and has his dorm selection on the second day in June. He had no issues securing the room he and his roommate wanted in Prather.

Daughter submitted the application with everything. Transcript took 8 days to be reviewed then housing was opened after 48 hours. As of now this process took 10 days in total for my D, now we wait…
Has anyone gotten an “in review” status yet? We submitted everything on or before 8/1, they downloaded from Common App 8/20, portal opened 9/3 and it sat as application “received” until 9/17 then it changed to application “complete”. I think the next step is either “autoadmit/accepted” or “in review”. Snails pace is killing me (son has the patience or a saint though).

There is a University of Texas at Austin Class of 2029 Parent FB group. It was created recently but doesnt get much traffic yet. The pattern seems to be lots of traffic here as we go thru apps to acceptance waves and then everyone with kids accepted and attending kind of migrates over to the FB parent page for the dorm selection, financial aid, moove-in phases. (Just my observation)
The other active one for all things Texas/college (which means heavy UT and TAMU) is College Bound - Texas. Lots of parents with kids applying to mainly Texas schools, parents with older siblings already at UT with good info and some consultant types who chime in with info now and again.

McCombs for first choice. Econ for 3rd choice (which I believe is in COLA). So if they don’t get their first choice and are auto admits what exactly are they offered in COLA? Is it their 3rd choice? Or is that not even guaranteed and it’s a general studies or other list of majors to choose from?
Other random question. Anyone know if they already have an UT ID from taking on-ramps if the app will generate a new one, or if they will have the same one? I guess she’ll figure it out when she gets the portal access.

Shows same mistake in year for my son. Says Class of 2028 instead of 2029.

Hey everyone. Son applied and we are waiting. He isn’t an auto-admit but has strong stats so we are crossing everything. Just wanted to give some hope to the non-autos here, his older brother did get in and wasn’t an auto. We were, frankly shocked, because although he applied we had little hope. But, he got in and it does sometimes happen. So keep hopeful to all. And congratulations to the Auto admits getting in today!
