You could just click on the last page number of the thread to establish that you’ve read all posts, then when you see a gray box with the number of new posts (under the bookmark star) back on the thread listing, you can click on the date under the new poster’s name to go directly to the new posts you have not read.

I’m not sure how I feel about seeing photos/avatars of other posters. It is like having a favorite book made into a movie. The movie characters never look like they do in my mind. (And you are all characters in my CC book.)
The “like” button… Well, we all know how the greenie gifts turned out. Will you like my posts if I like yours? (On the other hand, there have been a lot of times I wished there was a like button, so it could be a good thing.) Will we be able to see who liked our posts? </p>

<p>Can anyone tell me where to go to set my page to open to the last post rather than the first? I agree that the white background makes things much more difficult to read. Also the font size is way too small and I do not see where to change that.</p>
<p>For those wanting info about the iPad application…it is currently disabled and a priority to be fixed…this according to an admin in the community issues area. Thank you to that admin for answering the question.</p>
<p>I’m going to say I like the avatars, I had fun finding some options for that this morning. BUT, I think the avatar is one of the reasons we have a lot of white space – it is quite tall compared to many of the posts, so with info underneath it the posts are pushed apart. And I have never been quite sure what “junior” and “senior” member even add to the site. If I can see someone’s post count AND WHEN THEY JOINED, I can figure out for myself what sort of member they are. Just saying… that has always seemed extraneous. To me it looks like we gave up the join date and the location in exchange for the avatar. And it pushed us toward more white space, too. Don’t think it was worth it.</p>
<p>If the FB link works the way others are saying it does, I would say that is the first order of business to disable that function (wondering – did CC get some $$ from FB for adding the link?). If so, give it back and take it off. We value our confidentiality out there, and if this jeopardizes it then the functionality should be remove.</p>
<p>I have turned OFF autonotification. PLEASE put back the content of the post in the email autonotification. That was the beauty- that you could read the contend without having to log into CC .PLEASE put it back land let us know when so we can re select that option. Otherwise-- dont need ant extra emails.</p>
<p>All these years I thought I was responding to posts from people. Based on the Avatars, it appears I have been responding to talking dogs. Who knew there were so many smart talking dogs.

<p>There are no skin or background options at this time. Given the number of complaints on this today I assume they will look at this. But that isn’t the type of thing that can be fixed in a day.</p>

<p>Has anyone been able to fix their avatar on their iPad? Mine is wrong. I’m holding my dog and she’s been cut off…only a tiny bit of her fur shows. I can’t get the resize box to move correctly. </p>
<p>I am not enjoying this. I can’t see the textbox at the bottom here at all to post, on my phone when I go into a thread there appears to be no way to get to the last page, and I just tried to log in from a thread that I just took forever searching for, only to get taken back to the home page once I logged in. Now I have to find the thread all over again. This is clunky.</p>
<p>I decided I don’t care about the FB button. If someone wants to put something I said on their facebook it doesn’t really impact me. Google indexes much of the info from College Confidential anyway, so everything is in effect public information. If you have a common user name it is even more diluted…there are dozens and dozens of people using momofthreeboys as a user name in all sorts of social media.</p>

<p>Mom2 you don’t look anything like you did in my head. We all probably do have pictures in our head of what we think people look like. I know a few years ago I was surprised that someone I thought was a “she” was actually a “he”. Maybe animals make sense to keep the “mystique.”</p>
