Did he actually say The “snafu” was they missed and didn’t evaluate applications? The “snafu” could be that the deferral batch of e-mail didn’t get sent on the promised date… not that the applications weren’t supposed to have been deferred? You don’t need to answer because it doesn’t matter at this point. It’s just after a month of parents complaining on here it would be nice to see actual information on OSU - not just more complaining that is not constructive. It’s old now. It’s stinks that for whatever reason the kids were deferred but it happened. Move on already. Stop hijacking the thread for nothing constructive or start a new deferred thread.
Simply replying to your comment. Yes, the rep was clear that is was their error. He was very nice and had been wonderful answering questions for my son throughout the process. I can only comment on our experience with an actual admission rep from OSU and the experiences within the context of my school…I can’t not speak to the entirety of any school admissions process and certainly will not offer speculation or alternative reasonings for what happened. Hope this helps.
My daughter did receive an email this afternoon advising she received the Morrill scholarship(in-state tuition). She was accepted in the Jan wave.
Congrats!!
What does the heading of the email say?
Was it through their buckeye email or email from their application ? Mine was accepted in the December wave and still nothing about merit at all! Just that she got into the scholars program.
Same here, trying to patiently wait.
It’s tough, because there are other great schools that she has been admitted to that have already given her money. Today she got into IL and since that’s in state, she would need at least $10-15,000 a year from OSU to come close to Illinois’ cost. Seems odd to be admitted to the scholar’s program with no merit ?
Yeah, it’s been tough! However 40% of scholars also get morrill so there is still hope!
Good to know, but we don’t even need Morrill! Just something ! Lol
@Annalisee @singergirl7777 It was through BuckeyeMail, the heading is The Ohio State University Morrill Scholarship Program.
Yeah mine checked. She has nothing yet. Is your daughter in the honors or scholars program ?
My oldest was deferred and was accepted in March. There is still hope!!
She did not apply for honors or scholars. She was accepted into the Pre-Nursing major.
Was your child in the EA late deferred group ?
Congratulations! Did you get anything g through regular email to check buckeye email or just to Buckeye email? Thank you!
He was–this was 2 years ago, but he did get in after being deferred. It all depends on how many acceptances they get.
@singergirl7777 I’m sorry, it was her regular email only. Not BuckeyeMail.
Just received notification of National Buckeye scholarship in the mail today- so they are still be sent! Our OOS son was accepted in Dec, honors in January.
What state ? We are still trying to be hopeful! Congrats !
