My S22, OOS, applied EA and deferred on 1/25. Accepted today. Aerospace Engineering Major. 3.7 UW GPA, 1390 SAT, NHS, lots of AP and extra curricular activities.
Has anyone that was accepted today received any financial aid information around merit scholarships or grants? My son applied for the Morrill Scholarship but not sure if any of today’s accepted students who were originally deferred still have a chance at that scholarship?
Merit is already finished and was done early March. Morrill is not done.
My son was in the group that heard nothing on the 1/25 EA date but learned a few days later he was deferred- He was informed yesterday he is waitlisted. I encouraged him to move on- tear off the band aid- OSU is not his place as they saw no value in what he could add to the community which is their loss. He had a 4.3 GPA coming from a college prep high school, and a 29 ACT- probably shouldn’t have submitted the ACT score and he may have gotten in- I thought it would give a complete picture of his academic abilities but I see that lots got admitted with same or lower GPA and test optional- yes I am bitter. Still have a sophomore son there so cant hate too hard on OSU. In his class of 2024, many of his friends were ultimately accepted off the waitlist but that was a COVID year- I think this year it will be hard to get in off the waitlist. Congrats to all that got in! My son that attends OSU loves it.

I also have a sophomore daughter at OSU majoring engineering, loves it! This was my daughters #1 choice. She was EA deferred from 12/10 now denied. 1330 SAT 4.0 GPA. I guess it just was not meant to be for her. Congratulations to everyone who was admitted and finally off of the long EA defer list! Go Buckeyes!

I am not sure if there is an official one. but my daughter is on a FB page for the OSU 26 class to meet people to potentially use as part of the roommate pairing process between 5/15-5/30.
I was also waitlisted after deferred for engineering. 1180, 3.91 UW, 4.22 W
Deferred in January, 3.7 UW, 4.6 W, 32 ACT, plenty of APs, ECs, waitlisted for mechanical engineering.
Just got the morrill scholarship. Absolutely shocked and happy crying. I can’t believe it! God can do anything if we ask him
