I will say, we are a pretty small sample size, so maybe we just all got in. Hoping that’s the case!

Totally agree with you. The word admitted wouldn’t just be there. You would also think that a university would be able to fix any kind of mistakes that they were having with the portal. They did remove everyone’s admitted major a few weeks back and a lot of people are getting the admitted major twice now on the tour hack. I believe it’s real

I was thinking about this earlier and would love to hear thoughts… is it possible UTK deferred kids they’d usually accept during EA because of an extremely competitive applicant pool, only to realize RD wasn’t nearly as competitive, hence the many acceptances (considering admitted student back working as an “acceptance” for the sake of the argument)?

So we kept our Admitted Student’s Day b/c if DS gets in we definitely want to attend that session. Our hearts were broken during the EA round, so I’m protective of that now. That said, if Admissions knows that there is a bogus AS bug, you would think they would get it fixed so that all those AS tours don’t get filled up with kids that didn’t get in. But maybe their IT group lacks resources & can’t fix it at the moment, or is going to bulk cancel tours for those students who weren’t accepted once decisions are released ??

Back on January 19th I doubt that the glitch “Admitted Major” meant admitted any more than “Admitted” means admitted today when we see it on our portal or in an email confirmation, etc… I think it meant/means “being considered for”.
I would think after the SRAR debacle , they would have many safeguards in place to prevent something else from happening . I hope you get good news !!

It’s just hard to believe it has no correlation to your decision considering some people have nothing there at all and others have first/second choice major

Also who are the students that have already heard about being admitted in RD? Per the (club) coach’s email…Certainly no one on this forum. And it’s club, not D1 recruits. Are there any in-state guaranteed admits???
I may be mixing my states up, but I think the in-state guaranteed admits had to apply in early action, no?

I wouild agree that it is a big mistake if you were actually admitted when you registered for an admitted student tour. If we are not admitted students and register anyway, all bets are off.
Ok so this portal astrology is wildly entertaining for sure. But my god we this process has jumped the shark. Look at all of this. For UTK for crying out loud. The number 115 school in the country per us news. We’ve lost our minds.

I think what makes it so crazy is UTK was a safety for most people I mean when I was applying to schools I expected to get in EA my parents and I were completely shocked but it just puts in to perspective that applying to college is a lot harder now
