University of Tennessee Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

They dropped the ball this year- how many people here had the ssar issue and then were deferred? They don’t return emails or phone calls, I wonder why. I’ve spoken to other parents whose kids were deferred, had a late dated ssar( had no clue why because they aren’t on cc to know there was a glitch) seems some kids (parents)were pretty much shut up when this first happened with admittance. I know of several kids with higher stats, extra curriculars deferred

I feel like they deferred so many who had the SRAR glitch because they thought these kids just did it late until they realized it was a glitch but it was simply too late.

Absolutely, and now will not reply. Accepted first ones on here to call them (catch them) and hoped it wouldn’t get out to people who didn’t know abt the glitch. I am no way saying those kids did or did not deserve to be accepted, just weird first ones to call all got in with merit.

our AO returned an email timely…

Wait so the people who realized it was glitch called and got in???

My son thought he did his on time but didn’t really question it. So if he decide to call and ask, he could’ve gotten in before they announced the glitch?

Ours was Sheryl- I’ve sent 2 emails, 2 calls, nothing. Very unprofessional. Not how you want an admissions counselor to be. I also know of 2 others who have now sent her emails about glitch to no response.(they were NOT notified abt the glitch, but saw a Nov date in ssar) Not a good look on the school’s part

If you read up on this thread of who called and when it happened, you will see some of these kids were accepted by next day. NOT AT ALL SAYING THEY DID NOT DESERVE ADMITTANCE BUT COINCIDENCE IDK
Maybe if the school responded we would know why. Others deferred with glitch did not get google form or email abt glitch and not to call

Well then I’m expecting a lot of acceptances for those who got deferred

We have a different AO. She was very responsive.

Maybe that is true, but my son and 4 of his friends all had the glitch. They all called…2 were accepted and 3 were deferred.

this was always there

It doesn’t seem like that is factually accurate. I think some folks that had the glitch got in and some stayed deferred. I don’t think there was any correlation to when they escalated this to admissions, however

Did you happen to ask your student if they got an email from her ? We got one the night it all happened asking us to fill out the Google doc . I should say , my student got it and not us . She answered him back the next day .

No she did not receive any email- Funny though after posting on here a few hours ago, I got an email from Sheryl @4:25.
I highly doubt it was a coinsidence

As far as I can tell, regardless of srar… anyone with a 29+ ACT (or SAT equivalent) was accepted. And anyone below a 28 was deferred. Are there any counter-examples?

My son’s best friend has a 34 ACT and was deferred.

For anyone deferred, I just saw on my portal that it now says to update with 7th semester grades, etc., as soon as they are available. They must realize that some schools don’t end the second quarter until after the original January 19th deadline they initially stated.

Does anyone know when Direct Nursing Notifications will be sent out?

Yield protection perhaps?
