University of Tennessee Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

thank you for sharing… we definitely had Admitted major filled in AND Awaiting Decision at the same time… never saw Counselor: Smokey Dog or background changes. to the festive motif… can’t recall if there was a Net ID / Student ID or not…sure wish I had taken a screen shot… eager to see ADMITTED show it’s face again! then I’ll forgive the programmers for this, maybe…

We had Awaiting Decision and below this screenshot, was the same deferred verbiage as before.

We had a Net ID and Student ID header, but the fields were blank. We had an Admitted Major of Hospitality and Tourism Mgmt, which was my DD’s second choice. 1st choice was Interior Architecture. The counselor name remained the same as before.

Now the portal is back to Awaiting Decision with just a Slate ID, no Net ID, no Student ID, no admitted major.

Yes I does
in the banner above
“Rocky Top!” Neyland Stadium in background wide shot

Then it rolls to saying
All orange background
Next Stop… and V O L S in 4 rectangles as lights on top of neyland stadium

This is for daughter admitted to business school In December decisions.
She was also invited to apply for the Chancellor’s Honor program but she did not want to because we are not sure she will attend if other daughter is not admitted. They have been together since Kindergarten and would prefer going to the same school

I think those folks who saw an admitted major during the Saturday update and then things went back are basically admitted but the decision will come out late February 2024

Thanks

The banner changed because i immediately jumped up and woke my daughter up This was at 2 am. But i am not sure if changed to Next Stop…

I am just waiting for February

I am thinking she has been admitted now it is just a matter of waiting. Good Luck! Hope she gets in.

Does anyone know anything about their calculated GPA? When do they calculate that and is that what is used to determine merit? And if my son is close to moving up to the next level for merit (according to their chart, ie: ACT/SAT and GPA) is it worth it for him to take test again to see if he can get into next tier?

Yes. the calculated GPA is used to determine merit. The application portal should show the calculated GPA. Last year they let you submit updated SAT scores up until June for consideration of more merit. If your son is close to the next level it may be worth trying to take it again. They explain the core GPA calculation at the bottom of this page. First Year Student Applications - Undergraduate Admissions - University of Tennessee, Knoxville

Thank you. I appreciate the response. He was one who was deferred from EA. His portal showed the student ID and accepted major a few weeks ago and then disappeared. Hoping that is a good sign. Just trying to get my ducks in place if he gets the aceptance.

Does anyone have information when Honor’s college invitations will be sent out?

My daughter received both the acceptance and rejection email from the Honors college last week, both within a few hours of each other. They have yet to respond to her whether or not she is actually accepted or rejected.

I am new here but curious about these changes. Is everyone logging in each day to catch these changes? My son applied RD so I know we will not know for a few more weeks. Good luck to everyone!

Is there an announcement date for chancellors scholarships?

I spoke to the admissions office today about another issue, and they said they come out on a rolling basis between now and April

He said that only students who are admitted early action are considered for the competitive scholarships

Confirming, rolling basis for those deferred during EA?
